OVERVIEW


AVEX Group is in the business of identifying, acquiring, managing and reselling raw land investments within the predictable path of growth. It is our belief that safer and higher returns can be achieved through allocating a portion of one’s investment portfolio to a private Land Investment Program, which we make available to our clients. This program provides an opportunity for accredited investors to profit from the inevitability of population growth and the correlated demand for land. Increased population means increased demand for housing, shopping, schools and roads, all of which require land for development.
 
Our approach is to purchase a property “all cash”, with a budget in place to manage and increase the property’s value through effective planning, marketing and resale. Our objective is to sell properties within three to five years.

HISTORY


 AVEX Group was founded by the late John W. Knapp in 1990 for the purpose of acquiring real estate in various sectors, including office buildings, residential lots and raw land. Partnerships were formed to purchase these holdings primarily in the (then depressed) real estate market of north Texas. In the following years, AVEX began to focus on the acquisition of raw land in the path of growth in DFW, Houston, Austin and Denver. More than 50+ successful land projects were bought and sold in the past 30 years.  AVEX currently manages additional partnerships that own more than 7,000 acres of land for future residential and commercial developments in these fast-paced markets that have witnessed incredible growth throughout the AVEX years.

Our team stays up-to-date with market trends and activity to ensure clients receive the best investment counsel available. Our associates understand the goals and needs of each client, and it is our mission to deliver the analysis and strategy necessary to maximize each client’s return on investment.


FRANK E. BABB

PRESIDENT

Frank received his Bachelors in Business Administration, with a concentration in corporate real estate, from the University of North Texas in 1979. He was responsible for development and management as a Divisional Vice President of J Stiles, Inc., a large residential developer in Dallas/Ft. Worth, from 1979 to 1983. He was responsible for startup and growth of a real estate company in North Dallas as President of Frank Babb Investments from 1983 to 1990. While with Carter Crowley Properties from 1990-1998, Frank's responsibilities included all phases of property management, acquisition due diligence, and operations related to land and aviation holdings. After Crescent Real Estate acquired Carter Crowley Properties in 1998, he became responsible for the disposition of $72 million of assets. Frank has extensive expertise in real estate analysis, acquisition and development. From 2000 to 2013, he served as Senior Vice President of AVEX Group and has served as President since that time.

GAIL PEYTON

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Gail Peyton, Chief Operating Officer: Gail attended Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas from 1985-1987. She began her professional career in Human Resources with Southland Life Insurance in 1987. She was responsible for assisting in hiring new personnel, conducting employee orientation along with employee benefits, payroll and office procedure requirements. Then from 1995-2000 she was employed by 2 entrepreneurs, a husband and wife team on starting up and growing both of their companies; PinMark Golf and The Voice Link. Her responsibilities included marketing, accounting and managing both companies. Gail joined AVEX in 2000 and worked side by side with the former CFO of AVEX. In 2008 she left AVEX and started her own bakery business, 4 Goodness Cakes. After 5 successful years she sold the bakery and rejoined AVEX in February 2013. Since rejoining AVEX, Gail has worked in all facets of AVEX’s operations and has extensive knowledge of the company’s procedures. 


RICHARD P. KINCHELOE VI

DIRECTOR OF INVESTOR RELATIONS

Richard graduated from Texas Tech University in 2002 from the Rawls School of Business with a degree in Management. He went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix – Dallas Campus in 2005. Richard spent the first part of his career working for his family business in the medical x-ray industry. Before joining the AVEX team in December of 2019, he was the National Accounts Manager for Foresight Imaging. He was responsible for servicing close to 200 hundred major x-ray company account executives, product specialists executive and c-class hospital stake holders.


ELISABETH KNAPP

EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Elisabeth earned her undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University in 2009, majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in Business Administration. She then worked 2 years at the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation in Medora, North Dakota. Following graduation, Elisabeth was employed at the University of North Dakota Center for Innovation for 5 years, a startup incubator, assisting early-stage entrepreneurs secure angel financing and business plan development. Whilst here, she partnered with a client and co-launched Nordic Waffles, a food service company, in Minneapolis, MN, as Director of Operations and grew the company to 60+ locations across 5+ states in the upper Midwest. Elisabeth then pursued a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School in 2019.


BRANDON BALCH

ASSET MANAGER

Brandon graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in December of 2019. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics where he studied Finance and Real Estate. He began his professional career at AVEX Group in March, 2020. Before college, Brandon grew up in Van Alstyne, Texas.
